Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Originally set to release on November 21, 2008, the long awaited sixth  installment of the series is sure to be a summer box office smash. Fans of the hugely popular film adaptations of J.K. Rowling’s triumphant series of novels already know what’s going to happen, but for the rest of us here’s the basic plot. In their sixth year at Hogwarts, Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger must face new challenges and dangers brought about by the return of Lord Voldemort. Gangster John Dillinger has endeared himself to the American public who have no sympathy for the banks after they plunged the country into Depression. No one can stop Dillinger and no jail can hold him, causing J. Edgar Hoover to make him the first public enemy number one. Public Enemies is full of chases, shootouts, and epic betrayals as the FBI tries to take down Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson, and Pretty Boy Floyd during the booming 1930s crime wave. Star Trek

On May 8, 2009, J.J. Abrams hopeful attempt to breathe new life into the Star Trek franchise will hit theatres nationwide. The plotline is set immediately before the original TV series chronicling the early days of James Tiberius Kirk, Mr. Spock, and the rest of the USS Enterprise Crew. Thanks to its large fan base and with the help of notable actors like Chris Pine as James T. Kirk, Zoë Saldana as Nyota Uhura, Simon Pegg (Hot Fuzz) as Scotty, Zachary Quinto carrying over Sylar’s sinister appearance from Heroes to portray young Spock, Eric Bana as Nero, Winona Ryder as Amanda Grayson, and Karl Urban (The Lord of the Rings) as Dr. Leonard ‘Bones’ McCoy Star Trek is sure to be a summer blockbuster.

Watchmen

The movie adaptation of Alan Moore’s graphic novel hit theaters March 6, 2009. Set in a alternate 1985 America the “Doomsday Clock” is set at five minutes to midnight as tensions rise between the USA and the Soviet Union and superheroes are just another part of the everyday society. When someone starts killing off the old superheroes, Rorschach is determined to uncover the murderer. Along with a few of his crime-fighting friends from the old days, they begin to uncover a devious conspiracy that intertwines their pasts and leads to catastrophic future consequences.
